Will Dairy Boost Your Weight-Loss Resolution?

If weight loss and diet are on the New Year's resolution agenda, it may be the food group that is unlikely to be the help you need.

According to several studies, consuming dairy products as part of your daily diet can help reduce weight. The results of the Journal of Nutrition showed that a high-protein diet and milk shave belly fat and increase muscle size.

One hundred percent of the weight lost in the group was high protein and fat fats. Andrea Jose, a senior author of the study and a graduate student at the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University, said the participants gained muscle mass, a significant change in body composition.

In addition, a Harvard study showed that food quality is more important than calorie intake and showed that consuming high-quality special foods leads to weight gain over time.

His data showed that those who ate fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains and yogurt weighed less daily.

In fact, research found that every daily meal of yogurt prevented weight gain by 0.82 lbs.

Nutrition and Metabolism reported a study in which participants who took three or more milk plans a day after losing weight could consume more calories without gaining weight than those who did not consume dairy products.

Milk is nutritionally unique because it is a major source of nine essential nutrients: calcium, potassium, phosphorus, protein, vitamins A, D, B12, riboflavin and niacin. It provides three "worrying nutrients" for which children do not get enough: calcium, magnesium and potassium.

If you combine a large amount of nutrient-rich dairy products with regular exercise, you won't feel like you're losing weight.

"As with any diet, it has to be realistic," says Alyssa Greenstein, dietitian at the Florida Dairy Council.

According to the National Health and Nutrition Survey, 86% of women and 76% of men do not meet the three recommended portions of milk daily. This means that most Americans do not have sufficient levels of essential nutrients such as potassium, zinc, calcium and folate. These levels fall when eating tries to reduce calories by purifying milk.
